Established in 1999, Gatwick Flagship Chapter pride themselves on being a warm, friendly yet business-like group with the emphasis on giving quality referrals rather quantity.
We meet every Friday morning between 6.30 and 8.30 am at the Crowne Plaza hotel.

A customer of mine had recently become a member and thought I might find it useful. Being shy in the company of strangers, I attended my first breakfast with my husband. I remember being horrified when I was asked to speak for 60 seconds about my business, feeling sick and wishing I was anywhere else but there. My husband upon discovering that should I decide to join I would have to attend a weekly meeting and would have to get up early (around 4.30am!!) said “you will never do it”. I was locked out of the first Chapter I visited and subsequently became a founder member of BNI Flagship. I know it isn’t for everyone and if I said I received referrals every week, I would be lying, but at the end of the day, you get out of it, what you are prepared to put in and there aren’t many ways to obtain a workforce of around 20+ people and not have to pay them a salary!!
Remember to take advantage of what is available to you as a member. Free training and web presence, seminars, podcasts and advice from others to help with your business.
The sickness I felt at that first meeting still happens today, but the confidence I have gained in the process has led me to win business I could only have dreamt of. I still work for past members as well as present. It takes a long time for someone to gain the confidence to refer you onto their contacts, but once you win that confidence the referrals start coming in. I have also had the privilege of being a Chapter Director and a Membership Co-ordinator, which have also helped to build my confidence.
Life has its challenges and it is at those times you realise just how many friends you have made a long the way too. If it didn’t work I wouldn’t still be here!"
